The BYOT (Build Your Own Telescope) Kits have changed to enable schools to buy only the components they need. The Teachers Instruction Notes can be purchased separately which includes a information background on all the science, maths and instruction for making the Main Mirror. There are many web sites which have instructions on how to build the rest of the telescope. Here is one of the better ones:

 We have a number of Telescope Building Books available. Any parts which you don't want to make can be purchased through us.

Here is a list of an 10", 8" and 6" Dobsonian Telescope parts and prices. Please note the prices are a guide only, although fairly accurate. Prices are in Australian Dollars. Let us know your location for currency conversion and postal quotes. Other sizes available too, and many other accessories.

$110 of the following components is reuseable as this is the price for the Ronchi Tester, Sagitta gauge and Teacher Instruction Notes - if you wish to make more than one telescope. Larger telescopes can be made using the same Ronchi Tester and Teacher Instruction Notes with only the Sagitta gauge needing replacement (bigger one $10).

The following are variables for the telescope:

-EYEPIECE DEAL - ANY 6 for $180 (See Above)

-Or single Plossl Eyepieces are $50 each. Generally a telescope has 3 eyepieces, low, medium and high power.

-High quality eyepieces cost around $130 to $190. I can mix and match with the eyepiece deal depending on your budget.

-Solar Film, Black Polymer, for observing the Sun safely (Eclipses, Sun spots etc.) $45 per Sq. Ft. (smaller sizes available).

-Moon Filter $30

 Small refractor telescope kits are available which includes a completed objective lens.
